How much tax do I pay?

Enter your gross salary. You will see how much goes to social security and to taxes, how much you take home, and where that money goes. An approximation for white-collar employees, based on the official rates for income year 2026.

Your situation

You pay … of your gross salary in social contributions and taxes.

    Gross per year…
    Net per year…
    Net per month…
    Of a 100-euro raise you keep…

Your payslip shows a different amount each month. Your employer withholds advance tax (bedrijfsvoorheffing): a prepayment on your tax that is settled with your tax assessment. This calculator shows the final settlement for the whole year.

    How it is calculated

    Tax per bracket

Your taxable income is split into brackets. Each bracket has its own rate: only the part above a threshold is taxed at the higher rate.

    Where does your contribution go?

If your total contribution were divided like all Belgian government spending in … (Eurostat). This is an illustration: in reality your social security contribution goes to social security, and money from all sources is pooled.

      What is not included?

This calculator is an approximation. Your actual payslip and tax assessment may differ, among other things because of:

      • The work bonus for low wages (a reduction of your social security contribution and your tax)
      • The final settlement of the special social security contribution: this shows the amount withheld from your pay, for a single person
      • Your employer's contributions on top of your gross salary
      • Tax benefits such as pension savings, service vouchers, childcare, donations and a housing bonus
      • A partner's tax situation (in a joint tax return)
      • Meal vouchers, a company car and other fringe benefits
      • Blue-collar workers: their holiday pay and social security contributions are calculated differently; this version calculates for white-collar employees
